چکیده

Brazilian agribusiness is heavily influenced by beef export. Thus, it important to evaluate the quality and growth rate of forage species used as cattle food. Given that structural organization leaf cells tissues directly related forage-plant growth, we aimed analyze foliar anatomy Urochloa brizantha U. ruziziensis subjected different fertilization management practices. Experimental design was completely randomized split-split-plots. Plots were allocated strategies, namely single split fertilizer application. Subplots two doses for carrying capacities 7 10 head per hectare (AU ha-1). Sub-subplots distributed plant ruziziensis. Three leaves collected from each treatment anatomical processing cross-sections, epidermal imprints diaphanizations. Based on a parsimonious model, showed thicker than Split application increased thickness adaxial abaxial cuticle bulliform cells. Fertilizer dose higher capacity determined blade, cells, regular homogeneous parenchyma both studied species. We concluded interfere with ruziziensis, providing enhanced yield.

Special metabolites isolated from Urochloa humidicola (Poaceae).

This study aims to identify special metabolites in polar extracts from Urochloa humidicola (synonym Brachiaria humidicola) that have allelopathic effects and induce secondary photosensitization in ruminants. The compounds were isolated and identified via chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. The compounds 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzoic acid, trans-4-hydroxycinnamic acid, and p-hydroxy-benz...

Priming and temperature limits for germination of dispersal units of Urochloa brizantha (Stapf) Webster cv. basilisk.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of priming treatments on the upper and lower thermal limits for germination of Urochloa brizantha cv. basilisk, and testing the hypothesis that pré-imbibition affect thermal parameters of the germination. Pre-imbibed seeds both in distilled water (0 MPa) and PEG 6000 solution (-0.5 MPa) were put to germinate in different temperatures. It is...

Cover crops and herbicide timing management on soybean yield under no‐tillage system

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of cover crops and timing of pre-emergence herbicide applications on soybean yield under no-tillage system. The experiment consisted of four cover crops (Panicum maximum, Urochloa ruziziensis, U. brizantha, and pearl millet) and fallow, in addition to four herbicide timings (30, 20, 10, and 0 days before soybean sowing), under no-tillage sys...
